John Root Talks Crepe
After high school I attended one semester at BYU thinking, what the heck, I might want to be a doctor when I grow up. I decided to serve a mission for my church and they sent me to Poland where I would visit people in hospitals from time to time and that was enough to dissuade me from medicine forever. Not to disparage all you doctors (Steve), but I just couldn't handle the hospital smell. So upon returning to BYU I chose a very practical and highly marketable major; political philosophy. I became friends with my Polish language and culture professor who happened to be a violin maker. I convinced him to take me on as an apprentice and made two violins in the course of two years working on Saturdays and some evenings.
Another highlight of college was the chance to play bass for an epic rock band known as The Bifs featuring Eric Atwood, Kelly Frew and Mikey Smith. I did Air Force ROTC while in Provo, a decision that landed me in Pensacola, Florida for two years for navigator flight training. I was intended to be a weapon systems officer and fly in the back seat of either an F-15E fighter jet or a B-1B bomber. That turned out to be another "what the heck" moment as I soon realized that those jets fly way too fast for my puny, walnut-sized brain to keep up with. After a year of intense military flight training and two hurricanes, Ivan and Katrina, I washed out of flight school and the Air Force sent me to Vandenberg AFB on the Central Coast of California where I met my wife Sarah and decided to get out of the Air Force.
We are expecting our first baby (a boy) in September, so Sarah will be very well-rounded when you meet her. We stayed here in California and opened a crepe cafe modeled after a little place I used to frequent in Poland. For now, business is good but since there is a high failure rate in the food industry I have a plan E. If the cafe fails I'll become a hunter/ gatherer and wander the mountains of Central Coast California in search of nuts and berries. Who knows, maybe I'll find gold! Looking forward to seeing you all again!

More Walkers Than You Can Imagine
We thought that we were content, however Jason and I decided we wanted to have one more little one. We decided that this would for sure be my last pregnancy. In September of 2006 we found out that our family was about to expand!!! I found out at 6 weeks along in my pregnancy that we were bringing twins into the world. Well, I guess someone up above thought that was not enough because a few weeks later at 10 weeks I went in for another ultra-sound and they found another baby hiding behind the other two. YES, TRIPLETS!!!
.
.
Jason graduated from ISU May 12th 2006 and then quickly flew to Oregon to find us a house to move into. The next week he got back and it was time to have the triplets. Our family doubled in one day on May 25th 2006. We had three healthy, beautiful girls, Makenzie, Rachel, and Taybree. (from left to right in picture)
.
.
We now have a full house of six children. When the babies just turned 2 months we packed our family up and moved to Portland, Oregon (away from all our family) for another 4 years to attend dental school there.
.
.
I now stay home with our five girls and one boy as Jason spends a majority of his time at OHSU to finish his schooling and someday become a dentist.
.
.
Makayla just turned 8 in May, Rebecca is now 5, Tyler is a busy 3 year old, and the triplets Makenzie, Rachel, and Taybree are one and are all over the place “all the time”.
.
.
Hope to see you all at the reunion,
Jason and Alesha Walker

Tyler Miller - Selling That Space
I left high school and went to BYU where I studied electrical engineering. After a year I went on a mission for my church to Milwaukee Wisconsin where I did learn a foreign language, just not a recognized foreign language. I came back to BYU after my mission and continued to study electrical engineering until I got to my senior year when I met my wonderful wife, Carrie. We got married the summer before my senior year, and I decided to forgo Electrical Engineering for and get a degree in Advertising.
.
.
At the start of my second senior year (two years later) my wife and I had our first child, a daughter, Lainey. With our first child born and my second senior year under my belt, I went into print media (starting with the BYU Daily Universe as the advertising and online manager) and have been working in Newspapers ever since. BYU was a great time meeting new people and hanging out with good friends from Boise.
.
.
After school, I went back to Boise and worked for the Idaho Statesman doing advertising sales. From the Idaho Statesman, I went to the Idaho Press-Tribune and continued doing advertising sales. While at the press tribune, my wife and I got pregnant with our second child. If timing wasn't bad enough, I got a job offer in Denver working for a group of community weekly papers. So with my wife 8 months pregnant and chasing a 2 year old, I left and moved to Denver where she followed one month later after our baby boy, Brady was born. Yes, I made her move 8 days after our son was born.
.
.
Now, we are working and living in South Denver and loving it. The mountains are great, the skiing is wonderful, the fishing is amazing, the sunshine is to die for, and best of all, they have professional sports team in every major sport, and then some. Life has been great and I have a wonderful family. I love nothing more than spending time with my kids, and having my daughter run up to me and yell "Daddy's Home." I look forward to seeing you all at the reunion. .
.
Thanks Tyler! I deal with advertising sales reps all day at my work - so I know exactly what you are up to career wise. Good luck selling that space and making your goals!

Tickets To The Reunion Available Here!
As we draw closer and closer to the reunion on August 18th, we are ready to start collecting money for your tickets. Although seemingly annoying to pay in advance, it really helps us to know how much food we need and have the money collected to buy everything that is required. So in order to make this mutually beneficial, we are giving a price break to those who buy early! The tickets are coming to $50 a person - but if you buy in advance, they are only $45 a person. So save yourself some money and click on the link to the right that says "Add To Cart". You can purchase using your credit/bank card and you don't even need a Paypal account.
Alright everyone! Don't be shy - bust out those cards and get set for an amazing night! Bring spouses, friends, dates, whatever...just get a ticket stat! If you have any questions whatsoever, just email me and I'll get you an answer. We rather you ask then just decide not to come based on faulty information. Seriously, this is going to be awesome.
